Wayang kulit(shadow puppet) is a traditional Indonesian art from Java, made from cow or buffalo skin, then carved carefully to get the desired character, finished carved then painted according puppet characters.
puppet show is usually performed by a puppeteer(dalang), with the lights and accompanied by gamelan (traditional Javanese music)
The stories are usually drawn from the Hindu epics the Ramayana, the Mahabharata or from the Serat Menak, (a story about the heroism of Amir Hamza).
